air |
Volume
of air at ambient atmospheric temperature at a given vacuum level. |

Vacuum
pump capacity |
The
air moving capacity of the vacuum pump when it has attained working
temperature, at a specified speed and vacuum level at the inlet, expressed
in a volume of free air per minute. |

|
Working
vacuum |
The
controlled vacuum level, measured at a test point when all units (with
liners plugged) are operating. Accessories are connected, but not
necessarily operating. |

Effective
reserve |
Reserve
vacuum pump capacity measured by admitting air near the regulator to lower
the vacuum 2.0kPa below the working vacuum. |

Manual
reserve |
Reserve
vacuum pump capacity measured with the regulator inoperative by admitting
air near the regulator to lower the vacuum 2.0kPa below the working
vacuum. |

Pulsation
chamber vacuum |
Each
cycle of the pulsation chamber is described as having four phases. |
